Events on the Costa Brava

Discover the most outstanding festivities and events

The Costa Brava is much more than beaches and idyllic coves. Throughout the year, the region hosts a wide variety of cultural, gastronomic and festive events that reflect the rich Catalan and Mediterranean tradition.

Spring Events

Temps de Flors (May - Girona)

For a week in May, Girona transforms into a spectacular urban garden. Patios, streets and monuments are decorated with stunning floral compositions. It's one of the most photographed events in the region.

Jazz Festival (Peralada)

Peralada Castle hosts one of Europe's most prestigious jazz festivals every year. Major international artists gather in this incomparable setting.

Summer Events

Fiesta Major de l'Estartit (August)

Our home town celebrates its main festival with concerts, habaneras, fireworks and nautical activities. The festive atmosphere is felt both on land and at sea.

Habanera Singing (Multiple Locations)

During summer, different coastal towns organise habanera singalongs — traditional seafaring songs accompanied by 'ron cremat' (burnt rum). An authentically Mediterranean experience.

Cap Roig Festival (July-August)

The Botanical Gardens of Cap Roig in Calella de Palafrugell host this prestigious music festival with top national and international artists.

Autumn Events

Garoinada (October-November)

Sea urchin season is a gastronomic event in itself. Restaurants across the coast feature this delicacy on their menus. A culinary experience you can't miss.

Virgen del Carmen (July)

The feast of the Virgen del Carmen, patron saint of sailors, is celebrated on 16 July in numerous coastal towns along the Costa Brava. It is especially significant in fishing communities like L'Estartit, Palamós and Roses, where maritime processions carry the Virgin's image through the harbour, accompanied by decorated boats. A deeply rooted tradition honouring the region's connection to the sea.

Winter Events

Sant Sebastià (January - Multiple Locations)

The patron saint of many coastal towns is celebrated with fairs, communal meals and traditional activities. In Palamós, the famous prawn fair and auction are especially notable.

Celebrate Events from the Sea

Many of these events can be enjoyed from a unique perspective: the sea. Fireworks, harbour festivities and coastal celebrations take on a special dimension when observed from our boats.
